the Old and the New

The last of our two seminar/workshops for this series were writing for the two ends of the age scale.

Writing for children with Melinda Szymanik.

And Genealogy & Memoirs with Jan Gow & Joyce Irving.

Writing for Children is obviously a very popular subject and we had a lot of bookings for this seminar. Melinda was an excellent speaker and covered a lot of subjects and answered a lot of questions from the participants. Hopefully we have all learned enough to encourage us to pursue our interest in childrens books. It was great to see and hear from some-one who has been so successful, and learn some of the secrets of her success. Melinda managed to make the whole subject accessable on many levels.

The afternoon seminar/workshop was another very well received event. I suspect there were a number of people who turned up knowing they had and interest, but not too sure about what exactly they might learn from this. Never fear, our two very experienced ladies had an amazing wealth of experience and knowledge to share and teach us. Not only that, it was interesting, funny and entertaining as well. A great afternoon, so many thanks to Jan and Joyce.

All our speakers for the day put a large amount of time into preparing for the seminars, and it showed. Many thanks to them for all their dedication and work.

Comments from the day:

“Melinda really covered the topic excellently. Thank you and thank you Organizers. “

“Melinda. Thank you for a wonderful, stimulating and encouraging experience. Congratulations to all and a special bouquet to Melinda – Superb! “

“Jan. What a marvelous, vital speaker – inspirational. “

“Joyce what a contribution. Great!”

“Both Jan and Joyce were excellent.”

So, there you have it.

If you didn’t manage to come along to any of the seminar/workshops, then you truly missed out on a great opportunity to learn and develop your writing.

And if you did make it to any of them, then I am sure you will genuinely have benefited and we will lookforward to seeing your names in print someday soon.

Best of luck to everyone with their writing.
